-Purpose

The Japan Rubber Manufacturers Association (JRMA) is an organization that represents the corporations in rubber and rubber products industry in Japan. The organization strives for the sound development of the Japanese rubber industry as a whole:

a) keeping mutually close connections among members;
b) surveying and distributing information and statistics relating to the rubber industry;
c) working as a liaison between the industry and government and related industries.

n Standing Committees

General affairs
surveys and deliberates basic issues related to the management of the organization (revision and withdrawal of    bylaws, planning of business programs and budget, etc.).
SME
surveys and deliberates issues on small-and-medium-sized enterprises in rubber industry.
Finance
surveys, deliberates, and makes requests to relevant organizations on financial and tax issues in rubber industry.
Logistics
surveys logistic issues in rubber industry.
Labor
surveys labor issues in rubber industry and liaises with relevant government offices and other organizations.
Health and safety
surveys health and safety issues in rubber industry and liaises with relevant government offices and other organizations.
Trade
surveys and deliberates issues on import and export of rubber products.
Environment
surveys and publicizes environmental issues under the following sub-committees:
  1. CO2 (anti-global warming measures)
  2. 3R [recycle, reduce and reuse] (establishment of recycle-based economic society)
  3. Advanced environmental technologies
  4. Environmental protection manual
  5. Follow-up for VOC (volatile organic
compounds) reduction.

n National Committee for ISO/TC45

The National Committee for ISO/TC45 is commissioned by Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC) to deliberate International Standards on ISO/TC45 (Rubber and rubber products) and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), participates in international meetings, and consists of 16 sub-committees below:

deals with nomenclature and abbreviation for rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, and related compounding
ingredients
Environmental aspects (WG16)
deals with guideline for environmental aspects related to rubber and rubber products
Industrial, chemical and oil hoses (SC1/WG1)
deals with specifications for industrial, chemical, and oil hoses of rubber and plastics
Automotive hoses (SC1/WG2)
deals with specifications for automotive hoses of rubber and plastics
Hydraulic hoses (SC1/WG3)
deals with specifications for hydraulic hoses of rubber and plastics
Hose test methods (SC1/WG4)
deals with test methods for rubber and plastic hoses
Physical tests (SC2/WG1-4)
deals with physical testing methods for physical properties, visco-elastic properties, and degradation and application of statistical methods
Chemical tests (SC2/WG5)
deals with methods for chemical analysis and testing
Sampling, mixing, vulcanization, natural and synthetic rubber (SC3/WG1, 4, and 5)
deals with general methods for sampling, mixing, and vulcanization for rubber and evaluation methods for natural and synthetic rubber
Latex (SC3/WG2)
deals with evaluation methods for rubber latex
Carbon black (SC3/WG3)
deals with evaluation methods for carbon black of rubber application
Non-black ingredients (SC3/WG6)
deals with evaluation methods for non-black ingredients of rubber application
